Reduce integration costs and times with Plug & Play for laboratory device integration

Open Platform Communications Unified Architecture, or OPC UA for short, is an open source collection of standards for communication and data exchange. OPC has been used successfully in industrial automation for over 25 years and is constantly being expanded and improved. In principle, it is a control framework that can be easily integrated into existing software.

In 2024, the industry association SPECTARIS presented the extension Laboratory Analytic Device Standard – LADS. The Companion Specification LADS combines the requirements of the laboratory world. LADS-compatible devices, even from different manufacturers, can be quickly and easily integrated into networks using “Plug & Play” and LADS-compatible software, just like printers on PCs, for example.
